Not much to like except location.
It was old and dark. Furniture were old and the place was not very clean.
Exceeded expectations. Lovely staff. Very friendly. The photos do not do justice to this hotel.
Loved my room. I was there to visit with my elderly mom for the week...the b&b I usually stay at was not available. Swans was perfect because the room offered me the space to feel at home, a kitchen to make my meals in, and the convenience of being downtown. Will be going back again in August and look forward to staying at Swans again.
The front desk staff are not too sure who are guests and who are going into the pub. Most of the time I was ignored (could have been anyone going up the elevator). It was a tad impersonal.
This hotel has a friendly charm and quaint atmosphere.
I was not aware of the parking charge.
Loved the location close to the park. The room worked out really well. Plenty of space for a family and quite comfortable. Close to restaurants and grocery store. The rooftop deck was great!
We were upgraded from a 1 bed suite to a 2 which was great. Worried being above a pub would be noisy but it was super quiet, we heard nothing,
Only one fork in the kitchen and few glasses and bowls. Kitchen equipment should be looked at more frequently. We stayed for 3 nights and despite hanging our towels up they were replaced every morning. I would have preferred the chance to recycle them.
Hip; in the middle of Victoria with apartment like suites that do not feel like hotel rooms. It's ideal for younger people that want to be in an urban setting and enjoy night life.
Not a fault of the hotel, but the seagulls make a lot of noise in the morning and make it hard to sleep. Could have better an entrance for unloading and loading bags.
Perfect location in Victoria! Room was upgraded from studio to one bdrm suite upon arrival without asking.
Great location between downtown and chinatown. Tastefully converted warehouse, with good choice of food and micro brewery on site. Live music every night after 2100, but we couldn't hear it in our room 2 floors above and only slightly in the restaurant. Would definitely go back on next visit.
Parking is in an open lot on the next block. Renovation of the are isn't complete, so our view was of an empty warehouse.
We were very surprised at the luxury, the spaciousness of the rooms, and the friendly and helpful staff. Our expectations were exceeded, and our 7-year old grandaughter was delighted. Privacy was respected and the quietness was unequaled. We hope to stay there again, and we would recommend Swans Suite Hotel to anyone going to Victoria. The site is 3 short blocks away from the main area, but the walk provides a beautiful view of the harbor and the city in general. A bonus is the close proximity to parking.
Nothing, so far.
The loft in room 305. And the great King sized bed.
Noise at night in the street. Room 305 is above the night club below.
The suite was very spacious.
The bathroom for the suite is located downstairs while the bedrooms are upstairs. This is not an ideal arrangement.
Hanging baskets outside!
Location was awful, right on the edge of rough downtown area. It didn,t feel safe and there were lots of down and outs hanging about outside the shop attached to the entrance to the hotel. Our room had a tiny window high up near the ceiling which we could not see out of , room was very claustophobic and no air conditioning. The rooms were very drab and uninspiring with awful art work, as were the corridors. Our room had a very small patio surrounded by very high walls which made us feel like we were in prison. Noisy pub adjacent to the pokey reception area.We could not wait to leave and infact it had such an adverse effect that we left Victoria as soon as we could the next day. Not a good experience, the pictures on the internet definately didn,t show the actuality of this hotel. Don,t be fooled by the designers effort of retro interior design!
Excellent staff, go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable. The pub provides great value for money meals. Live music adds to the atmosphere.
We hada a one bedroom apartment and a fan in the bedroom would enhance the enjoyment. This is a very minor didn't like.
This is a lovely boutique hotel. Close to everything in town. Convenient to public transportation. The bed was super-comfortable and even though I expected a studio, found I was upgraded to a suite The front-desk staff was friendly and very helpful.
